Feeling stuck is tough. I'm here to help you cut through the noise, rebuild your self-trust, and create a life that feels authentically you.

I’m Heidi Lohman, a mental health counselor who specializes in adolescents & young adults, LGBTQIA+ individuals, self-doubters, those navigating grief, life transitions and recovering from eating disorders. I offer virtual sessions in Minnesota and South Carolina, as well as in-person support in St. Paul, MN.

A Bit About Me

The focus of my professional life has revolved around supporting individuals, creating connections, and empowering people to recognize their strengths and build confidence. With over 15 years of experience in the mental health field, I have had the privilege of working with individuals and groups in various settings. These experiences - from residential treatment to school settings to in-home interventions to nature-based therapies to private practice - have given me an appreciation for the complexities and strength needed to support individuals through their mental health journeys. You can expect to laugh and be playful in my office while diving deeper into a better understanding of yourself.

My educational background began with my bachelor of science degree from the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare at the University of Wisconsin, followed by a Master’s in education with a concentration in School Counseling from Lewis & Clark College. I hold my professional counseling license in both Oregon and Minnesota. While I weave a variety of therapeutic techniques and training into my work, all of them come from a trauma-informed approach that recognizes the need for a holistic understanding of the relational connections between the brain and the body. My practice is rooted in creating a calm and collaborative partnership where my clients are centered, valued, and welcomed wholeheartedly to be their authentic selves.

Outside work, I explore the outdoors with my wife and daughter. We love hiking, backpacking, camping, creating, and gardening together. I am fiercely progressive, both socially and politically, and have always believed deeply in the dignity of all living beings. I’m committed to anti-racism and anti-oppression of all kinds, and I work hard to stay educated and engaged.

Let’s get started.
