Frequently asked questions.

Are you taking new clients?

Absolutely! I’m taking clients both in-person at my office in St. Paul or virtually from anywhere in the state of Minnesota.

What forms of payment do you accept?

You can pay using your Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Health Savings Account (HSA), or any major credit or debit card.

Why don’t you take insurance?

This was an intentional choice to provide you with more control over your treatment. Insurance sets limits on sessions and treatment methods based on diagnoses, which may not always align or resonate with your healing needs. By working privately, we can design a therapy experience that matches your preferences and goals exactly, without outside restrictions.

What if I would like to use my insurance?

For clients wanting to use their insurance, I will happily provide you with a monthly superbill to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

A monthly superbill is a detailed invoice from your therapist that can be submitted to seek reimbursement from your insurance for out-of-network benefits.

Here are some helpful questions to ask your insurance company about your out-of-network benefits:

  1. Does my health insurance plan include out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health?

  2. Do I have an-out-of network deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?

  3. How much does my plan reimburse for out of network benefits once I have reached my deductible?

  4. Is there a maximum allowed fee that my insurance plan will reimburse?

  5. Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?

  6. How do I submit claims for reimbursement?

Do you offer a reduced rate?

Absolutely. I care deeply about mental health care being accessible, so I offer 1/4 of my sessions at a significant discount. If you would like to pursue this option just let me know and we can discuss your payment plan during our free initial consultation.

What is your cancellation policy?

Your appointment slot is reserved for you. If you are unable to attend your appointment, I kindly ask for a 24-hour notice to cancel or reschedule. If something comes up last minute or you miss your appointment, I do charge the full session fee.
